Fifteen hundred fintech roles now sit at The Exchange 106, the center of Malaysia’s international financial district. This footprint marks Ant International’s latest commitment to the region, establishing a Global Development Centre designed to support a portfolio spanning digital payments and SME digitalization. More than half of these positions are dedicated to technology development, reflecting a targeted shift toward localizing high-value engineering.

The expansion follows a sequence of partnerships with CIMB and PayNet aimed at streamlining cross-border commerce. By aligning with Malaysia’s AI Nation 2030 vision, the firm intends to use the Kuala Lumpur hub as a primary site for developing AI talent through direct collaboration with local universities. The move positions the operator to manage the increasing complexity of regional fintech infrastructure from a single, centralized node.
